Emergency Services

Call 9-1-1 for Emergencies

The Township of Billings Volunteer Fire Department provides services and programs in our community to protect lives, property and the environment. We follow the three lines of fire safety defence:
  1. Public education and prevention
  2. Inspection and enforcement
  3. Emergency response

We respond to service calls for fires, fire alarm activation, carbon monoxide alarms, motor vehicle accidents, emergency medical intervention with the Manitoulin EMS and natural disasters.

Message from the Fire Department

  • It is important to keep your property open and accessible for emergency vehicles.
  • Make sure you have a working smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector on every floor and within your sleeping areas and to practice your escape plans annually.
  • Regular chimney cleanings and proper maintenance is essential to reduce your chance of having a chimney fire. WETT inspections and cleanings can be completed by Wayne at Stone-Man Enterprises (705) 282-0111
  • New Volunteers are always welcome!

Questions, concerns or requests for site visits can be forwarded by the Billings Fire Chief, Martin Connell at (705) 348-1484.
