UPDATE – Kagawong Dog Park Open, Trails and Falls Remain Closed

The Kagawong Dog Park is now open. It is crucial that users continue to follow public health guidelines while utilizing this space: limit interactions with people who are not members of your household, keep at least 2 metres of space between you and other people, wear a face covering when physical distancing is a challenge, and clean your hands often, especially after touching public surfaces, with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

The township has received a number of requests and inquiries regarding opening the Kagawong River trails and access to Bridal Veil Falls. While the province has amended the emergency order to permit the opening of these sites, this amendment comes with the very important caveat that spaces should not be opened unless they can be done so safely. That is, if it is not reasonably possible to maintain the public health measures noted above, a space should not be opened.  Reopening the trails and falls is continuously assessed by the township’s Emergency Control Group. At this time, the assessment is that it is not reasonably possible to maintain public health guidelines and remaining provincial restrictions (ex. no use of communal swimming facilities, no groups of more than 5 people) while utilizing these spaces.

All beaches, trails, sports courts, game boards and playgrounds remain closed.
