Please be advised that the Department of Fisheries Oceans Canada (DFO) have completed the Soil Remediation Work (excavation and backfilling) at the Kagawong Lighthouse to remove all metal impacted soil that are believed to have been caused by past DFO operational practices (lead paint) as part of the final stages of environmental remediation works at the lighthouse site initiated by DFO several years ago.
Pylons will remain on site over the course of the winter and the re-establishment of grass and vegetation will be completed in the Spring.
