BE IT RESOLVED THAT this regular meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Billings be opened with a quorum present at 7:30 p.m. with Mayor Austin Hunt presiding in the Chair.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the minutes of the September 2, 2014 regular meeting of Council be accepted as presented.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT October 29, 2014 be designated the 13th annual Child Care Workers and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-Law 2014-33, being a by-law for the Assignment and Assumption of the Lease Agreement for the Kagawong Power Generating Station be given first and second reading.

WHEREAS the generation of solid waste and needless waste of water and energy resources are recognized as global environmental problems and,

Whereas municipal and provincial governments have an important role to play in promoting waste reduction, reuse, recycling, composting and other conservation measures and,

Whereas communities, businesses and organizations across Canada have committed to working together to raise awareness of these issues during Waste Reduction Week in Canada,

NOW BE IT RESOLVED THAT we proclaim and declare October 20 to 26, 2014, inclusive, as Waste Reduction Week.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council agrees that the Municipality will pay the registration and expenses for the Clerk Treasurer to attend the Management Skills Program hosted by Canadian Professional Management Services in Sudbury October 29, 30, 31.
