BE IT RESOLVED THAT this regular meeting of Council be opened at 7:30 p.m. with Mayor Austin Hunt presiding in the Chair.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the minutes of the May 5, 2015 regular meeting of Council be accepted as presented.
2015-128 Erskine – Parker
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the minutes of the May 14, 2015 Committee of the Whole meeting be accepted as presented.
2015-129 Imrie – Alkenback
BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approves in principal the establishment of a Community Garden on Mudge Bay to commence with the project while Council reviews incorporating the garden into the EDC Committee.
Councillor Imrie reported on the opening weekend of the Museum.
Councillor Parker reported on the CPAC (Community Policing Advisory Committee) meeting that he attended last week.
Councillor Alkenbrack reported on the FONOM (Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities) Conference that she attended on May 7, 2015.
Mayor Hunt reported on the FONOM Conference that he attended May 5 to 8.
2015-130 Erskine – Parker
BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council authorize the Clerk Treasurer to contact two students and ask them to start work early to do maintenance at the marina, public works and landfill.
2015-131 Parker – Erskine
WHEREAS, The Manitoulin Sudbury District Services Board (DSB) has reviewed the issue of social housing market rents,
AND WHEREAS, Bill Baker, Billings Township representative on the Manitoulin Sudbury District Services Board has provided Council with the DSB report and asked Council to comment on it
NOW THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Council supports the idea of having the rental increases being phased in over a two or three year period.
2015-132 Alkenbrack – Erskine
BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council will host a Family Feedback Session on Saturday October 17, 2015 and a Seniors Feedback Session on Saturday October 24, 2015, to be organized by Councillors Erskine and Alkenbrack.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council hire Maureen Strickland to complete the Stage 2 application for the Economic Development Officer.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council instructs the Clerk to proceed with having the Heritage lights repaired.
2015-135 Erskine –Alkenbrack
BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council instructs the Clerk to have the owners of 466 Honora Lakeshore Road, Billings Con 13, Lot 2 Plan 31R869 Part 2 roll number 51 21 000 002 023 00 enter into a “Hold Harmless” agreement with the township for the 5 x 5 play structure that they wish to build on the shoreline road allowance.
2015-136 Erskine – Alkenbrack
BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-Law 2015-22, being a by-law to enter into a cleaning/maintenance contract with Manitoulin Cedar Products be given first, second, third reading and enacted.
2015-137 Imrie – Parker
BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council accepts the 2014 Audit report presented to Council this date.
2015-138 Alkenbrack – Erskine
BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council authorizes the following accounts for payment:
General Accounts $49,218.57
Water Capital Account $46,019.25
And that the Mayor and Treasurer be authorized to sign cheques number 3066 to 3087 and 88 as described in the attached register.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-Law 2015-23, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council be given first, second and third reading and enacted.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council adjourns from this regular meeting of Council at 9:10 p.m. until our next regular meeting of June 2, 2015, or call of the Chair.
