BE IT RESOLVED THAT this regular meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Billings be opened at 7:30 p.m. with Deputy Mayor Sharon Alkenbrack presiding.

BE IT RESOLVED that Council requests current data from CPAC regarding Ontario Regulation 3/99, specifically Sections 4, Section 5(1)(c) and (d); Section 9 (1) and (4) including names of those officers; Section 10; Section 11 (1) and (2); Section 12 (1) including the number of officers trained and their names; Section 14(1); Section 26 (1) or (2) as the case may be; Section 30 (1) and (2) which will likely need to come from Orillia; Section 34 and Section 35.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council will pay the registration and expenses for Rick Rusk and Chris Cyr to attend the Ontario Good Roads Workshop on Managing Winter Operations to be held in Brampton on October 22, 2015.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the township will pay registration and expenses for the Clerk Treasurer to attend the AMCTO Workshops “Process Improvement in four Simple Steps”, Essential Leadership Skills in today’s Municipal Workplace and the Webinars “Competencies to Increase Success”,” Five Essential Leadership Skills for Municipal Excellence” and “Step up your Leadership Communications”.

2015-312 Erskine – Parker
WHEREAS, the Ministry of Transportation has cancelled the Senior Drivers Licence Renewal Program in the Town of Gore Bay,
AND WHEREAS, the cancellation of the Senior Drivers Renewal Licence Program in Gore Bay will force drivers in our area who are 80 years and older and who have a comfort level driving on local roads and streets to travel approximately 180 Kilometers, round trip on busy provincial highways to attend this mandatory course,
AND WHEREAS, this puts these individuals at risk and potentially other users of those highways,
AND WHEREAS, this adds additional stress and financial cost to these seniors
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Council instructs the Clerk Treasurer to send a letter to the Minister of Transportation advising him that the Ministry’s cancellation of Senior Driving Sessions at the Gore Bay Medical Centre is a senseless decision and that the program needs to be reinstated in Gore Bay at the earliest possible date.

And that the Mayor and Treasurer be authorized to sign cheques number 3274 to 3307 as described in the attached register.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT in accordance with Section 239(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001 S.O. Chapter 25, this Council proceed to a Closed Session at 8:06 p.m. in order to discuss a matter pertaining to a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board.
