Public Works staff remove snow from municipal roadways and regularly monitor road and weather conditions so we can do so in a safe and timely way. Public Works staff follow the Winter Maintenance Plan as approved by Mayor and Council and passed by by-law every year.
Roads
Public Works maintains, and is working to improve, approximately 181 km of roadway (gravel, tar & chip and asphalt surfaces) as well as the 3 bridges making up the road network for the Township of Billings. Operations include snow plowing, grading, cold-patching, ditching, brushing, sweeping, roadside mowing and the maintenance of municipal road signs, culverts and bridges.
Civic addressing, or 9-1-1 numbers, link your property number to the road and municipality that it is in so emergency services can find it if needed. Please ensure that your civic address plate is easy to read from the road at all times.
Civic addresses are typically installed once an entrance permit has been approved and installed in conjunction with a building permit.
