Municipal boat launches and outdoor spaces
The municipal boat launches at the Small Craft Harbour and the upper Kagawong River will be opened in a ‘use at own risk’ condition as of Friday, May 15, 2020 – no dockage will be installed to facilitate launching. The launch at the A.H. Hunt Marina remains closed, as do all other marina amenities.
In addition, the municipally-owned shoreline area at the mouth of the Kagawong River in Mudge Bay, north of Old Mill Road, will be open for walk-through use and as access to Mudge Bay for physically-distanced fishing purposes. All beaches, benches, trails sports courts, game boards and playgrounds remain closed, including Bridal Veil Falls and the dog park.
It is crucial that you continue to follow public health guidelines while utilizing these spaces: limit interactions with people who are not members of your household, keep at least 2 metres of space between you and other people, and wear a face covering when physical distancing is a challenge.
