BE IT RESOLVED THAT this regular meeting of Council be opened with a quorum present at 7:30 p.m. with Mayor Hunt presiding.

2016-224 Parker – Alkenbrack
BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council supports the request to keep sled dogs in an area zoned rural, provided that the owner is a member of the Canadian Kennel Club, and remains a member as long as they have more than the number of dogs allotted in the Keeping of Pets by-law.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Township agrees to purchase 50 chairs from the Island Community Church for $1000.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Township will pay the registration and expenses for Brian Parker to attend the Rural Ontario Municipal Association Conference on January 29-31, 2017.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the township will pay the registration and expenses for Barbara Erskine to attend the AMO Energy Symposium on November 3 and 4, 2016.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council accepts the leave of absence request from Tom Imrie for January, February and March 2017.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council instructs the Clerk Treasurer to arrange for Snowplow Operator Training for the Township Public Works staff and see if other island municipalities have any staff that would like to attend the training.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Billings Township supports the Manitoulin Tourism Association in their application for funding for a Lumberjack and Heritage Festival.

And that the Mayor and Treasurer be authorized to sign cheques number 4025 to 4044 as described in the attached register.
