BE IT RESOLVED that this regular meeting of Council be opened with a quorum present at 7:30 p.m. with Mayor Austin Hunt presiding.

BE IT RESOLVED that the agenda for the November 21, 2016 regular meeting of Council be accepted as amended.

The agenda was amended to add under 7. c) Canada 150 Sculptures and to Remove from 12. Closed Session a) Employee Negotiations.

Councillor Erskine reported that the Recreation Committee had its annual planning meeting on November 12.
Councillor Erskine gave a report on the Energy Symposium that she attended.
Mayor Hunt reported that three island officers, two from Kagawong, had received an OPP Commissioner’s letter and St. John Award for their lifesaving attempts in the case of a drowning victim earlier this year.

BE IT RESOLVED that Council instructs the Clerk Treasurer/CAO to proceed with purchasing 80 chairs from Direct Chair.

December 24, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

December 27, 2016  2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
December 29, 2016  2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
December 31, 2016  10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

BE IT RESOLVED that Council appoints Dan Osbourne as the Community Emergency Management Coordinator on a temporary basis, until such time as a Councillor or staff member is appointed to the position.

BE IT RESOLVED that Council approves the following staffing changes:
Effective November 12, 2016 Floyd Becks to be appointed as Public Works Superintendent for a six month trial period and that Chris Cyr be appointed as 1st Operator for a six month trial period and that the Clerk Treasurer be instructed to advertise for a Public Works Operator, full time temporary with the possibility of the position becoming permanent.

BE TI RESOLVED that effective January 1, 2017 employees who are not at the top of the pay grid will be moved up to the next level.

And that the Mayor and Treasurer be authorized to sign cheques number 4118 to 4162 as described in the attached register.

BE IT RESOLVED that By-Law 2016-39, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council be given first, second and third reading and enacted.

BE IT RESOLVED that Council adjourns from this regular meeting of Council at 8:40 p.m. until our next regular meeting of December 6, 2016 or Call of the Chair.
